Error: Access to path ’000whatsnew.png’ is denied. tubeCore will not start.

This is a known problem that is caused by a bug in tubeCore that writes files to the disk.

This bug will be fixed in the next release.

A workaround to immediately address the problem is to delete the following directory:

C:\ProgramData\tubeCentric.tv\tubeCore

NOTE: You are deleting the folder under the “ProgramData” directory NOT the “Program Files” directory. If you accidentally delete the “Program Files” directory tubeCore will stop working or disappear entirely.

Any idea when you will get this bug fixed. It continually arises for me on my Xbox. That prevents me even from dealing with the bigger error that arises on my WMC.

On my WMC I can’t play most PlayOn stuff. It starts to play the video and in fact must be turned off from playing to move to another video. That suggests it is really working, but the error I am getting is “The media player you are using is not supported by PlayOn.” But PlayOn works on my Roku fine; they claim it is likely TubeCore. Perhaps this is a setting issue, so I welcome suggestions. (Win7-64 bit, Ultimate; i7-920, P6X58D Premium; 12 GB memory, PlayOn- updated yesterday, but this error was first apparent in late January, though it could have arisen earlier; TubeCore v3.4.35.2853).

    Has this issue been resolved?
I have removed, and re-installed the software with the same issue. It was working great for about a month then stopped.

    Hi Curtis:
A suggestion made for your consideration.

It would be nice to have a version number in the details properties or the version number in the name instead of the suffix ‘-latest.exe’ in case we have to revert to an earlier version.
